Episode 1:

Fang Shiyu lives in Guangzhou with his mother, Miao, and his father, Fangde. One day, he gets into a fight with a wealthy man, Fu. When Miao helps Fang win the fight, Fangde gets so angry that he confines them to the house for a month.

Episode 2:

When Miao and Fang get into another fight (with Hong, a newcorner to the city), Fangde decides to send Fang to study at Tongtian school in Hangzhou. Whilst there, he has a misunderstanding with Yan, a woman disguised as a man.

Episode 3:

Fang fails his examination at Tongtian School because of his humble family background. He joins the Qionghua School but is ostracised by his schoolmates when he bullies Hong. Meanville, Miao travels to Hangzhou to be reunited with her son.

Episode 4:

After realising that Tiger Lei"s nephew, Lei, is the cause of the misunderstandings between Fang and his schoolmates, Miao, Fang and Hong decide to teach him a lesson. They also vow to lead the Qionghua School Lion Dance Troupe to victory against the Tongtian School Troupe at an inter-school competion.

Episode 5:

Yan reconciles with Fang after learning about Lei"s despicable tactics. Hong fails in love with Yan after meeting her. As the date of the competition draws nearer, both them step up their training.

Episode 6:

Fang"s team gains the upper hand at the Lion Dance Competition. However, Tiger Lei helps his nephew to win the compitition by injuring Fang with a secret weapon. Meanwhile, Tiger Lei"s wife, Li, causes trouble at the Qionghua School and accidentally uncovers Miao"s take pregnancy. An angry Fangde orders Miao to leave the city.

Episode 7:

Yan successfully persuades Fangde to let Miao stay. Yan and Miao thus become good friends. Hong misunderstands the nature of Yan and Fang"s relationship, and proposes to Yan on Fang"s behaft. Later, while drunk, Yan expresses her liking for Hong.

Episode 8:

On Lei"s behaft, Li asks Yan"s father for permission to marry Yan. As Yan is unwilling to marry Lei, she sets the condition that he must first win a martial arts competition. Yan then asks Fang and Hong to competition against Lei. A masked man, Miaoxian, instructs them on ways to beat Lei.

Episode 9:

Li teaches Lei special skills to win the compitition. At the same time, Fang assures Yan that he will win the competition. However, this again causes Hong to minsunderstand Fang"s relationship with Yan. Depressed, Hong gets himseft drunk under the bridge.

Episode 10:

Yan expresses her feelings to Hong, motivating him to fight against Lei in the competition. Fang and Hong win the competition. In doing so, they render Lei incapable of practising martial arts. Tiger Lei vows to take revenge and starts by assaulting Fangde.

Episode 11:

Tiger Lei badly injures Guan in the boxing ring. In avenging Guan, Fang kills Tiger Lei. While in shock over the killing, Fang suddenlygoes missing. But after intense counselling by Guan, Fang gets back on his feet.

Episode 12:

Li insists on avenging her husband"s death and sets the date for a duel with Fang. Fangde advises Fang to escape to Guangzhou but Fang refuses. Fearing Li"s prowess, Fang goes through a torturous training regime. Meanwhile Yan"s father locks her up in her room tostop her from seeing Hong.

Episode 13:

Yan"s father offers Hong money to leave Yan alone, but he declines. Li thinks that she has killed Fang. His family prepares a fake funeral for him while he makes his journey to the Shaolin Temple, accompanied by Miao, Hong and Hu.

Episode 14:

On the way to Shaolin, Fang and company lose their belongings to a conman who claims to be Monk Sande. They also come across a village girl called Ling, with whom Fang has frequent arguments. During one of their quarrels, the real Monk Sande comes to Ling"s rescus. Fang and company attack him, thinking he is the conman.

Episode 15:

Fang and company finally meet Shaolin Master Wumei. Ling turns out to be Master Wumei"s disciple. Fang and Ling slowly become friends. Miao, Fang and Hong try to befriend Monk Sande after Wumei confirms his identity. Sande secretly helps Fang, Hong and Hu to pass the temple"s enrolment test.

Episode 16:

Fang, Hong and Hu start their training at Shaolin Temple. Fang meets Shaolin Master Zhishan one day and is shocked to find that Zhishan looks exactly like his father.

Episode 17:

Fang is bored with his daily basic training routine. He sneaks out to watch his seniors practising advanced martial arts. But Monk Sande pulls him away before he is caught. Fang and company become friends with Monk Sande.

Episode 18:

Fang and company break Shaolin rules by sneaking out of the temple to visit a village. For their punishment, they are sent to do hard labour with Monk Sande. However, Monk Sande teaches them matial arts skills instead. Meanwhile, Miao"s return to Hangzhou raises suspicion about Fang"s "death", Li and her father realise that Fang is hiding in Shaolin and rush there to kill him.

Episode 19:

Fang fights Li and wins. Her father vows revenge, Master Zhishan mediates and sets a later date for a duel between Li"s father and Fang.

Episode 20:

Fang and company seek in vain for a martial art crash-course from Master Wumei. However, Fang"s mischievous behaviour inspires Master Wumei to invent a new set of martial arts skills. She teaches it to Fang who uses it to beat Li"s father in a duel. Through all this, Fang falls in love with Ling.

Episode 21:

Miao tries to help Fang woo Ling, but meets with Monk Sande objestion. At the same time, Yan comes all the way from Hangzhoi to visit Hong, but he refuses to see her.

Episode 22:

Yan is hurt bu Hong"s rejection but believes he has a reason for doing so. She learns to cook from Ling, in order to win back Hong"s love. Unfortunately, she accidentally starts a fire in the kitchen, which somehow implicates her in a murder that"s committed in Shaolin later that night.

Episode 23:

Yan vows to clear her name by finding the real murderer. However, she is hurt by Hong"s lack of trust in her. Disillusioned, Yan, together with Ling, decide to become nuns. Fang and his friends are shocked. Fortunately, Master Wumei deems Yan and Ling unprepared to become nuns.

Episode 24:

Fang and his friends" investigation of the murder leads Monk Zhida to reveal a tragic love story that took place 30 years ago. Monk Zhida advises Hong to cherish the person her loves.

Fang and his friends set a trap to capture Li and Feng. During the fight, Li jumps down the cliff and drags Ling along. Miraculously, they survive. Ling the takes care of Li, who"s seriously hurt, despite what Li had done to Fang. Li is touched by Ling"s action

Episode 27:

Ling is badly hurt after she shields Fang from a kick by Li. Despite Master Wumei"s best efforts, she remains in a coma. While Ling is unconscious, Fang expresses his love for her and she miraculoushy awakes.

Episode 28:

Miao and Fangde have a new naid, Sun Qing, who was Fangde"s first love. After hearing about Sun"s tragic past, magnanimous Miao asks Fanfde to take good care of her. Meanwhile, Hu decides to leave Shaolin in order to protect his father from a bully, Chou.

Episode 29:

Hu fails a test and is not allowed to leave Shaolin for amonth. Desperate, he escapes from Shaolin and is pursued by Monk Sande. Eventually, Monk Sande, touched by Hu"s filial piety, decides to help him out.

Episode 30:

Fang and Hong graduate as disciples of Shaolin Temple. In a surprise move, Master Wumei allows Ling to leave with Fang and Hong.

Episode 31:

Feng and Chou attempt to burn down the Qionghua Clan Association building. Fang amd his friends stop the arson attack in time. They set a date for a duel between Hu and Chou.

Episode 32:

Chou wishes to marry Yan, However, Yan"s father rejects his proposal. Chou tries to abduct Yan but kidnaps her father by mistake. While rescuing Yan"s father, Hong is hurt by Bai.

Episode 33:

Hu wins his duel with Chou. Chou and Feng try to take revenge but Hu eventually kills Chou and seriously hurts Feing in the fight. Having settled all his affairs, Hu returns to Shaolin to face his punishment.

Episode 34:

Bai learns about Chou"s death. Feng instigates Bai to go to Shaolin to kill Hu. On his way to Shaolin, Bai seriously injures Miaoxian and renders him incapable of practising martial arts.

Episode 35:

Bai wreaks havoc in Shaolin with his formidable, seft-invented martial arts skills. he kills Master Zhishan and set the temple on fire.

Episode 36:

Bai and Feng hold Ling hostage in Wudang Shan, Fang and company plan to rescue Ling and seek revenge for Shaolin. However, one night, a long haired ghost appears to Fang.

Episode 37:

The long-haired ghost, Xingyin, teaches Fang a new set of martial arts. Meanwhile. at Wudang Shan, Ling offers to serve Bai for life, in exchange for letting Fang and company off. Bai rejects her offer.

Episode 38:

At Hong and Yan"s wedding, Feng and his army attempt to disrupt the event, but is prevented from doing so by Li, who feels guilty for causing so much damage to Wudang and Shaolin.

Episode 39:

Bai kills Li for betraying him. Fang and company are unsuccessful in rescuing Ling from Bai. Ling begs Bai not to kill them. But, having been assaulted by Bai, Fang dies from his injuries.

Episode 40:

Fang come alive at his burial and heads straight for Bai at Wudang Shan. Whit his new-found strength and martial arts skills, he kills Bai, with help from Hong. Fang is then reunited with Ling.
